At Krieger Klatt, we unite form and function. Using cutting-edge technology and a pragmatic methodology, our design process yields results that are reliable, innovative, and sophisticated.
We start by gathering all the necessary information about your needs, the site, and what you want to achieve. This data guides us as we plan out the best use of space. Then, we get to work on the actual design, combining our creativity with practical know-how. Finally, we fine-tune every detail to make sure the design not only looks great but works perfectly for you.

Our firm has emerged as a design leader in multi-family architecture. While not limited to architecture alone, KKA has designed thousands of luxury apartments and master planned various large-scale developments in Michigan and across the country. These types of projects include Mixed Use, Podiums, Wrap-Style Buildings (Internal Parking Structure), Townhomes, 3-Story Walk-ups, and Adaptive Re-use (Office Conversions).
Does your team navigate the city approval path?
KKA often leads and manages the city entitlement process for the owner. This includes preparation of any applications due for the submittal, attendance at community engagement events, and preliminary conversations with the city, and representation at public hearings. KKA typically prepares a visual presentation for these events and city hearings. Through the process, the Architect will coordinate and meet with City Staff as required to finalize the design for the formal submission.
Can you help me with permits and regulations?
Krieger Klatt can assist with building permit submittal as required and will assist in coordination with the city during this time. Krieger Klatt has worked with many municipalities and can assist in navigating the process.
How is my project staffed?
At Krieger Klatt, a Principal will lead the design of the project. An experienced project team will be assembled according to project type. This includes a Principal, Designer, Project Manager/Architect, and Technical Support Staff.
Do you offer Interior Design?
Yes. Krieger Klatt is a full-service Design firm and has an award-winning Interior Design team. KKA offers full design services that will see your project through from the initial concept all the way to installing those critical finishing touches. Along with programming, conceptual design, specification and construction administration, our team also offers Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) Specification Services and can assist in procurement.
What is the role of an architect during construction?
This phase of the project is called Construction Administration. KKA typically reviews shop drawings and submittals, can attend Owner and Contractor Meetings, and assists the contractor with questions that they may have.
How long does it take for a project to go through design and documentation?
Project duration varies. Single Family Residential projects take between three and six months before you can submit for building permit. Commercial projects are often more involved due to the City Entitlement Phase (Site Plan Approval, City Commission Approval, and potentially Zoning Board Approval).
What technology does Krieger Klatt use?
KKA continuously invests in the latest industry software. All projects are developed utilizing Building Information Modeling (3D Modeling) technology. KKA also utilizes state-of-the-art rendering software to create photorealistic imagery to help you envision your space. 3D Laser Scanning, Virtual Reality, and AI Generative Design Software are other tools that we use during the design process.
